Biography

Debra Anastasia

There's always been place in Debra Anastasia's mind that contains other worlds, other people, and endless outcomes. As a child she played there often-the door was opened by reading. But eventually time and responsibilities clouded this place with cobwebs. But now... Oh, now. Writing has helped her open that door again, and she was thrilled to find everything still in place and ready to play. Debra now lives in Maryland with her family, and when she's up late at night, stories leak from her fingers onto the keyboard. You're invited to share her imagination, and she promises not to waste your time. "Let me tell you a story," Debra says, "It is an honor to be your author."

Crushed Seraphim

Crushed Seraphim

How does a foul-mouthed angel end up as the last hope for all of Heaven and Earth? When Seraph Emma is maimed and tossed from Heaven by a rogue angel who's taken charge, she fears she'll never be allowed to return. Tasked with the impossible job of showing the self-loathing (and not even human!) Jason his worth, Emma is sure she's doomed to fail. Meanwhile, having wormed his way into Heaven, the corrupt Everett has trapped God in Hell and has designs on unleashing evil everywhere. Fortunately, if there's one thing Emma can't do (in addition to minding her language), it's give up. Determined to save Jason and get back to Heaven-even if it means going to Hell-Emma's plan is simple yet impossible: trick the Devil to save God. What she doesn't count on is the devotion and, well, humanity she finds in Jason; the spirit, hidden compassion, and raw sex appeal within the Devil; and the vulnerability of her own heart. With the help of two unlikely allies, she'll wage the battle for Heaven. But will Emma be sidetracked by a new sort of heaven along the way? What's truly more dangerous? Falling from Heaven, or falling in love? Debra Anastasia has twisted a fast-paced tale of intimate relationships with literally universal impact. Rich with humor and electrified by attraction, this novel offers a playfully off-beat take on the good and evil that make up the world.

Reviews

This is a story of redemption, hope, loss, faith, and just a bit of blind luck. And as always, Ms. Anastasia has given me more than just a story. She's given me a new set of characters to adore and a new world that makes me think of my own differently. ~ Author Rachel Firasek (Need to ask permission if use author reviews)

If you wanna fall for the devil... this is the book for you. ~New York Times Bestselling Author, EL James

It was filled with love , heartache, action, a mouthy angel and one smoking hot Satan...I would gladly go to hell for him...I cant wait for the next one!!!..A wicked read indeed:) Jennifer at Bhook Junkie

The unexpected is what makes this book such a brilliant read and I have it on good authority that there is a sequel in the works. Whether you find yourself on Team Jack or Team Jason, you won't want to miss any of this series. Autumn at Open Book Society

If you love fast paced stories with many twists, humour, romance and snark with enough innuendo's to please even the minxiest of flirts, then you have to read this book. ~Ramblings of a Book Bitch

This was an interesting book because of its take on good and evil. Is the Devil evil or merely a misguided soul in need of redemption? Are all Angels good and are even the good ones always pure and true, or driven by very human weaknesses? The lines were mixed and didn't always play out the way you would have expected them to. ~Laura at Book Chick City

Bittersweet Seraphim

Bittersweet Seraphim

Suffering is worst when you're doing it alone. But Emma's taking Hell like an angel—even though her languishing began with having her seraph wings torn from her back. Now her worst enemy lords his body and his evil desires over her while she tries desperately to remember the words to her favorite prayer.

As Devil, Jack used to have Hell and its women humming like well-oiled machines. Too bad he's nowhere near the place now. Stuck on Earth as a human, he must work with a ragtag team of exiled minions and half-breeds to save the angel who's become all that matters.

Rescuing a seraph is the plan, but breaking into Hell means letting evil things out. Once they collide, minions and angels converge in the battle of the ages: good versus evil. But which side is which? Will Jack destroy the world as he fights to save Emma, his true and timeless love, from a damnation he designed?

An action-packed sequel to Crushed Seraphim, this tale reveals-time and again-what happens when the heart's deepest desires break free. With a story both sizzling and sensual, emotional and enigmatic, Debra Anastasia invites readers to join a battle with nothing less than love on the line.

Poughkeepsie

Poughkeepsie

He counts her smiles every day and every night at the train station. Morning and evening, a beautiful commuter acknowledges him, just like he's anyone else on the platform. But Blake Hartt is not like the others. He's homeless. Memories of a broken childhood have robbed him of peace and twisted delusions into his soul. He stays secluded from the sun, sure the world would run from him in the harsh light of day.

Tracing the path of her daily trek to the city, Livia McHugh is convinced she's the same. The same as a million other girls. Nothing special-certainly no one to be cherished. She continues on her way, smiling politely at everyone, never imagining that some people rely on her simple human gesture to jumpstart their day.

Then comes the moment when Livia must do more than smile. She steps into the fray to defend the homeless man, never expecting his voice to trickle so thrillingly down her spine. After the danger subsides, their smiles become conversation. Their words usher in a friendship, which awakens something within each of them as it evolves into love.

It seems simple, and it's certainly exciting, but their bond must soon prove its strength. Entanglements from the past will prove a challenge to both their love and their lives.

Blake's heart beats for Livia's, even if her hands have to keep its rhythm. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love never fails. Love never fails, right?

In an interwoven tale of the most unlikely loves and relationships forged by fire, Debra Anastasia takes readers into the darkest corners of human existence, only to show them the radiant power of pure, selfless adoration and true sacrifice. Complicated families and confused souls find their way to light in this novel, which manages to be racy, profane, funny, and reverent all at once.

Reviews

"This is a gorgeous book, just beautiful storytelling, and one of my favorites this year. I'm crossing my fingers for a sequel. Thank you Debra Anastasia, you blew my mind, made my heart pound, brought tears to my eyes, and made me laugh... a lot!" -Rhonda from Sam, Elena, and Rhonda's Awesomeness Book Review Blog 5+ AMAZING STARS!!

There is plenty of action, suspense, romance and hilarity to be found in Poughkeepsie. Debra Anastasia has outdone herself with her latest novel and as long as she keeps writing like this I will keep reading. -Nicole at All I Ever Read Book Review Blog

All of Anastasia's characters are both horribly broken and unbelievably strong in their own way. Each one is a different side of the same coin, a paradox. It is the beautiful paradox of good and evil, right and wrong, compassion and revenge that make this one of my favorite books of the year. ~Autumn at Open Book Society

Anyway, I am totally rambling on and this review probably makes no sense what so ever. But I'm telling you Debra Anastasia has become one of my favourite indie authors of 2011, and I'm know that whatever else she releases in the New Year, will be just as good, just as funny and just as sexy as Crushed Seraphim and Poughkeepsie. ~Jessica at Book Passion for Life

This book has the perfect combination of drama and action. Poughkeepsie was written to perfection. ~Wanda at good Choice Reading
